We are excited to share the scientific program for the 8th Interdisciplinary Research Symposium to be held at the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine on Tuesday, April 2nd.
There is no Registration fee, and we welcome faculty, students, and staff interested in participating. Registration is from 12-1 pm, and we start the Symposium with a Plenary Session with three experts representing basic sciences, medicine, and public health to discuss The Search for Biomarkers to Advance Health Equity.
Thanks to the extraordinary interest received from the scientific community, we received 82 abstracts in the four research categories, which resulted in a very competitive process for selecting the top 46 abstracts (56%). Thanks to the evaluators’ collaboration, we are proud to share the 46 poster presentations: Basic Sciences (16), Clinical Research (11), Case Reports (11), and Behavioral (8).
Besides SJBSM faculty and students, we have presenters from Universidad Central del Caribe, Ponce Health Sciences University, and Universidad Ana G Mendez. From the University of Puerto Rico, we have presenters from 6 Campuses: Medical Sciences Campus, Rio Piedras, Aguadilla, Bayamon, Cayey, and Mayaguez. We welcome presenters from the University Pediatric Hospital, Puerto Rico Women and Children’s Hospital, Manati Medical Center, and San Juan City Hospital. The presenters also have numerous national institutions and organizations supporting their studies.
We thank the Alliance for the excellent support in disseminating this 8th Interdisciplinary Research Symposium, and we look forward to continuing to be part of this extraordinary research network.
