Dr. Yamixa Delgado from San Juan Bautista School of Medicine

Principal Investigator

Project Title:

Delivery of Edelfosine through the blood-brain barrier using a transferrin-based delivery system for epilepsy

CoPI: Yancy Ferrer, PhD

My academic background is in industrial chemistry with research experience in molecular modeling of proteins, a doctoral degree in biochemistry & biotechnology with research experience in protein-based drug delivery systems, and postdoctoral training in drug design of metallic complexes. Currently, I am an Assistant Professor at the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine (SJBSM) since April 2017. Since then, I am committed to establishing research collaborations that will enrich and complement my knowledge and skills. One of my research strengths is developing drug delivery systems nanoparticles using in vitro-designs. At SJBSM, I am one of the pioneers involved in biomedical research, and during these years, I established a laboratory dedicated to the study of drug design and delivery.
