Dr. Marian T. Sepulveda-Orengo, PhD, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Basic Sciences at Ponce Health Sciences University, has been announced this year’s recipient of the Research Training Opportunity Program (RTOP). The RTOP is a two-stage training program promoting technology transfer and collaboration among Alliance researchers.
-
- Stage 1 of the RTOP involves the Alliance funding one annual visit by a qualified investigator to a U.S. institution with expertise in emerging technology. During this stage, investigators establish connections with the host laboratory and learn to implement specific methodologies.
- Stage 2 brings the host Principal Investigator (PI) to Puerto Rico to continue the technology’s implementation within the Alliance institution.
Dr. Sepulveda-Orengo’s research project, “The Role of Neuron Subtypes in Behavioral Responses to Drugs and Stress,” aligns well with the program’s objectives. She was also a previous recipient of the PDCs Mentor-Mentee award, highlighting her dedication to research and collaboration.
The RTOP provides a valuable opportunity for researchers like Dr. Sepulveda-Orengo to enhance their expertise and contribute to scientific advancements. Her work holds promise for a better understanding of addiction and stress-related disorders.
Congratulations to Dr. Sepulveda-Orengo on this recognition, and we look forward to the insights her research will bring to the scientific community.
