As part of our social responsibilities, efforts to fight COVID-19 continue. Testing and vaccination opportunities are available throughout the island. Community and non-profit organizations keep requesting clinics. Since November 2020, we have been testing in over sixteen communities in Toa Baja, Cataño, Dorado, Vega Alta, Ciales, Bayamón, San Juan, Guaynabo, Loíza and Vieques.
Recently, Carola López-Cepero MS MT (ASCP) and I, visited for the second time a small community in Vega Alta. Although the number of reagents and tests available was limited, all of them were used. Mrs. Denisse Melecio went with us and shared information about The Alliance with the patients and my husband, Mr. Juan González assisted us (he is a laboratory technician at the DNA and Serology Laboratory at the Instituto de Ciencias Forenses). Special thanks to both. People are always very thankful for the efforts of the health professionals; most of the time recognized as heroes in this battle.
Keep fighting, working, contributing! Use your voice to spread the message: vaccination and testing must continue! We need to end and win this battle!
