Prymed Medical Care: Transforming Rural Healthcare in Puerto Rico

In the heart of a rural area lies a beacon of healthcare excellence—Prymed Medical Care, Inc. Here, amidst the serene landscape, healthcare professionals work tirelessly to serve the diverse needs of the community. On March 07, 2024, GROW PR Network’s team had the opportunity of visiting the Prymed’s clinic in Ciales Puerto Rico.
Prymed Medical Care, a private, non-profit community-based organization, is dedicated to the provision of health services at the primary level. Recognized for their commitment to quality and patient safety. They offer prevention and health maintenance services to the communities of Ciales, Vega Baja, and neighboring towns. They specialize in community interventions, quality care services, customer satisfaction, and infection prevention.
The clinic, with its high organizational priority on patient satisfaction and quality improvement, has a commitment to continuing the expansion of their services. They have embarked on numerous projects in the past that aimed at addressing the unique health challenges faced by rural communities. From chronic disease management to preventive care initiatives, their collaborative efforts have yielded tangible benefits for patients and providers alike.
During discussions with clinic staff, GROW PR Network and Prymed delineated future research projects, each aiming to address specific healthcare needs identified within the community. Discussing the challenges faced and the lessons learned helps the team focus on quality, data collection improvement, and chronic disease management interventions.
In the collaborative journey between members and GROW PR Network, there is a sense of what can be achieved when researchers and practitioners come together with a shared purpose.
