Community Highlights: The Alliance’s Multisectoral Retreat
On September 4th, the Alliance’s Multisectoral Retreat brought together diverse stakeholders to foster collaboration and drive forward innovative contributions. The day was a blending of insightful presentations featuring the accomplishments of the Community Engagement Core, GROW PR Network, and creative activities that cemented the commitment to working together for positive change.
The retreat kicked off with the highlights of current plans, renovations, and initiatives. Each speaker shared their vision and updates, showcasing collective efforts aligned toward achieving shared goals.
Key topics included:
- Project Updates: team leads presenting their progress and illustrating contributions.
- Work plan and future activity brainstorming: discussions focused on innovative approaches to align with community needs.
- Fostering collaboration to support short and long-term health research (2024-2030).
This safe space for idea exchange not only provided clarity on current trajectories but inspired collaborative brainstorming sessions, where participants offered insights that will shape future endeavors.
After the presentations, the atmosphere shifted to one brimming with creativity and teamwork. A unique group painting activity was planned and held by Ms. Laura, educator and artist. The goal of this funding opportunity is to support junior faculty researchers in LMICs, develop their careers and conduct pilot studies that address the specific aging and dementia-related needs of their populations by fostering collaboration with experienced researchers and encouraging studies that consider cultural and social contexts, this initiative aims to build research capacity and improve health outcomes for older adults in LMICs. This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) invites applications for research on aging and Alzheimer’s disease in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), acknowledging that these regions will have the largest increases in elderly populations and associated health challenges.
Title: Rigorous Evaluation of Primary and Secondary Overdose Prevention Activities Among Populations Disproportionately Affected by Overdose
This notice seeks to fund research that focuses on people experiencing disproportionate burden of drug overdose related to social determinants of health. The proposed research should rigorously evaluate primary or secondary prevention strategies in innovative and viable ways.
