AM session: 09:00 – 13:00  “Tips and tricks: workshop on mentoring”

A session covering a number of issues relevant to mentoring. Topics include assessing understanding, maintaining effective communication, aligning expectations, fostering independence and addressing equity and inclusion and promoting professional development. This is not a lecture.

PM session: 14:00 – 18:00   “How to get that big grant: workshop on grant writing”

A working session addressing some key issues in writing a good grant. This is not a lecture.

NOTE: Attendees will be expected to submit by Thursday, October 28 either specific aims or an abstract (results are not necessary) – or both – of a research project or grant proposal (including career development grants) they are planning.
