Funding opportunity for small grants to leverage analysis of pre-existing large databases in Health Disparities and prevalent disease/conditions among Hispanics
One small grant ($5,000) will be awarded to help the principal investigator:
- to conduct data analysis using a large database to support new competitive proposals for external funding, and/or
- to disseminate the results of large database analysis, covering publication or travel costs to present findings in scientific meetings
All proposed activities should be completed within 12 calendar months from the project start date.
Who can apply?
- Junior investigators and doctoral students*interested in health disparities research among the Hispanic population using structured or unstructured big secondary datasets to achieve study aims.
*Academic mentors are required as CoPIs for submissions of doctoral students.
IMPORTANT
At least one of the Principal Investigators (PIs) must be an investigator at one of the ALLIANCE institutions (UPR-MSC, UCC, PHSU).
Preference will be given to proposals that address topics of health disparities in a thematic area stressed by the ALLIANCE and HiREC in its research goals.
Proposal submissions should include:
Specific aims (1 page), Statistical analysis plan, Budget justification,
Biographical sketch(es), and Description of the dataset and expected outcomes.
