Program Application Process
To be considered for the Mentor-mentee teams’ program, the candidate has to:
- Submit a Letter of Intent (By April 15, 2021)
- Access the application package
- Submit the full application package including a letter of Support from a Mentor or Research Collaborator and the NIH Biographical Sketches

The Mentor-mentee teams’ program is designed to help new investigators develop partnerships, skills and tools to be successful in obtaining external funding to support their careers as independent researchers.
Program Eligibility
Stage 1:
Alliance or previous PRCTRC Pilot Project Awardees, Alliance or PRCTRC previous Pilot Project Non-Awardees and participants who completed the Art of Grantsmanship Intensive Workshop OR; ≥1 publications in peer-reviewed journals within the last five years OR;
Has submitted >1 local or national pilot project.
Stage 2:
Pilot Project Awardees OR;
≥2 first, second, or corresponding author peer-reviewed publications that specifically highlights the candidate’s experience and qualifications in clinical and translational research related to a specific area within the last five years OR; Has submitted ≥1 external competitive grant (excluding pilot projects).
