The New Mentor-Mentee teams for the year 2023-2025 have been announced and they are comprised of highly accomplished individuals. Dr. Marcos Ramos from Ponce Health Sciences University will be mentored by Dr. Loyda Melendez from UPR-Medical Sciences Campus, while Dr. Nelson Varas from Florida International University will mentor Dr. Elsa Orellano from UPR-Medical Sciences Campus. This Mentor-Mentee program is specifically designed to help new investigators develop partnerships, skills, and tools to successfully obtain external funding, enabling them to thrive as independent researchers. The teams will receive support for up to two years, based on their progress as demonstrated through follow-up meetings and written progress reports.
