GROW PR Network welcomes its newest member!
Generating Research Opportunities Working Together for Puerto Rico welcomes its newest member, Camuy Health Services, Inc., a community-based, non-profit organization that provides health services in the northwestern region of Puerto Rico. Their mission is to offer the highest quality in health services to the Camuy population and neighboring communities and accomplish wellness in patients, family members, and community members through increased access to health services, preventive behavioral strategies, and continuous care. They have a vision of continuing to be a distinguished community-based organization that provides excellent services contributing to the health, quality of life, general well-being, and sustainable development of the communities they serve. Together with GROW PR Network, they look forward to generating new ideas and practices that further this vision and help improve health outcomes island-wide.

Community Highlights: Primary Care Services Week
Puerto Rico’s National 330 Health Center Week took off on August 8, 2024, and primary care facilities have been showcasing their collaborative efforts and continued services through social media. Amongst our members, the Primary Care Association of Puerto Rico featured the accolades of its 21 primary care (330 centers). Salud Integral de la Montaña’s (SIM) celebrated the inauguration of SIM’s Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHCs) conferred by SAMHSA (Substance and Mental Health Services Administration). Prioritizing mental health and increasing access to services in rural areas of Puerto Rico is challenging and a major step towards addressing the unique cultural and clinical landscape on the island.
Migrant Health Center in Mayagüez launched its New Horizon Project (Proyecto Nuevo Horizonte) focusing on HIV home testing kits along with training for the communities on Mayagüez’s coastline. On August 9, 2024, this ASSMCA Proyecto Care event was held in tandem with a health fair with medical evaluations and certifications impacting communities in the West.
Closing the National 330 healthcare center week were Prymed, Concilio Integral de Salud de Loiza, and Camuy Health Services, Inc. They all organized events with evaluations, testing, orientation, music, exhibitions, and many other activities during this past week. Prymed’s Healthy Summer at the Beach event on August 10th focused on providing nutritional assessments, COVID-19 rapid testing, and interactive activities. Concilio Integral de Salud de Loiza celebrated the 21st anniversary of their Rio Grande clinic. The growth and expansion of diverse preventive healthcare services on the island is one that we celebrate and continue to support wholeheartedly. Happy National 330 Health Center Week!

We are excited to announce the launch of a new communication channel dedicated to keeping our members updated with the latest news, and important announcements related to our Practice-Based Research Network (PBRN) GROW PR Network. This month we will be sharing an easy way to follow GROW PR Network’s updates via community. This WhatsApp channel called GROW PR Network Community will serve as the center for all relevant information including upcoming events, research opportunities, and membership updates.
We encourage you to join and actively participate by sending your news updates and sharing innovative initiatives with peers, stay active and informed within the community.
