GROW PR Network’s January Update
LET’S WELCOME GROW PR NETWORK’S NEWEST MEMBER!
Sistema de Salud Menonita
In 1944 Mennonite missionaries began a dispensary for the community La Plata in the central mountainous region of Puerto Rico in Aibonito. This evolved into a visionary endeavor to innovate healthcare experiences, services, and technology aimed at transforming lives. Today, Sistema de Salud Menonita has a mission to serve with Christian love and provide integrated, excellent health services in a nondiscriminatory environment distinguished by its human warmth throughout their 13 hospitals and health centers in the south and central parts of the island.
GROW Puerto Rico Network Meeting Success!
On December 19, 2023, we brought together clinicians, public health specialists, nutritionists, administrators, and other stakeholders for an impactful session centered around team-based learning. The meeting was a resounding success, fostering a collaborative environment that sparked innovation in healthcare practices. Through engaging team-based learning strategies, participants were able to share diverse perspectives, pool their expertise, and collectively tackle complex challenges facing our healthcare landscape. This inclusive approach not only deepened our understanding of current healthcare issues but also cultivated a sense of shared responsibility for finding innovative solutions.
The heart of the meeting was the team-based learning sessions, where participants actively collaborated on generating innovative research ideas integrating real-world scenarios. Several primary care, government, and other organization representatives strategized on efficient resource allocation, and all stakeholders engaged in cross-disciplinary discussions that bridged gaps and enhanced overall understanding. The success of this engagement strategy lies not only in the wealth of knowledge shared but also in the relationships forged among diverse healthcare professionals. As we continue this journey of collaborative learning, we look forward to the transformative impact these shared insights will have on our collective mission to advance healthcare and improve outcomes for all. We are grateful to all participants and especially the Primary Care Association of Puerto Rico for their outstanding support and for hosting this event.
