Connecting directly with primary care facilities is part of GROW PR Network’s objectives to understand the needs, and priorities, and explore effective ways of collaborating with our members. This past October 6, 2023, we visited Hospital General Castañer in Lares, Puerto Rico.
With a mission focused on community services and outreach, the team led by Dr. José Rodríguez, Mrs. Miriel Rivera, and Dr. Ileana López, has accelerated interventions and services for the mountainous region of Castañer in rural Lares, Puerto Rico. This includes interventions for diabetes and hypertension management with home care visits, using telemedicine to facilitate medications, among many other initiatives. Thank you all for sharing research ideas and activities! We are looking forward to expanding, strengthening, and supporting the research efforts at Hospital General Castañer.
