Purpose
The Alliance Developmental Project Program (DPP) aims to increase the number of scientists engaged in clinical and translational research addressing health conditions affecting our population.
Developmental Projects are two-year research projects designed to generate preliminary data that can support investigator-initiated grant applications such as NIH R01-equivalent research project grants.
Projects must be led by an independent investigator with the scientific background and expertise necessary to conduct the proposed research.
The program supports the IDeA-CTR mission by strengthening collaboration among Alliance institutions and partners, integrating basic, clinical, and translational research, and facilitating access to research resources, mentorship, and technology.
Available Support
- One Developmental Project will be funded
- Up to $100,000 per year in direct costs
- Maximum duration: two years
Research Focus
Research proposals must involve translational research addressing significant health concerns across communities in Puerto Rico and the US mainland and must align with NIH research priorities and guidelines.
