Purpose
The Alliance Pilot Projects Program (PPP) supports innovative, one-year feasibility studies in clinical and translational research focused on health conditions affecting Puerto Rico.
This program is designed for junior faculty, clinical fellows, and investigators entering new research areas who are seeking to generate preliminary data for future NIH funding (e.g., K-series or RPG awards). Multidisciplinary collaborations, especially those involving community partners, are strongly encouraged.
Through mentorship, resources, and research support, the PPP helps investigators advance toward independent research careers while strengthening collaboration across the Alliance and IDeA-CTR network.
Research Scope
Research proposals must involve translational research addressing significant health concerns across communities in Puerto Rico and the US mainland and must align with NIH research priorities and guidelines.
Available Support
-
Up to three (3) pilots will receive up to $50,000 for a one-year study.
